The group will research and analyze "Rethinking School Lunch Oakland" (RSLO), the comprehensive study to reform Oakland Unified School District's nutrition program. RSLO developed as a result of a partnership between OUSD and the Center for Ecoliteracy. Jennifer LeBarre, OUSD Nutrition Services Director, and Zenobia Barlow, Executive Director of the Center for Ecoliteracy, were integral to the creation of RSLO and will join the study as key community collaborators.
The resulting case study will address issues of food justice, health equity, and career pathways in agriculture. It seeks to serve as a source of information for other school systems that plan to implement change in their nutrition systems. Find out more about this incredible opportunity here.
